My Top 5 Lenses [micro four thirds]

These are my favorite lenses.

nr 5 the panasonic lumix 14-140mm, F3.5-5.6
it has a impressive zoom range from 14-140mm, and it can get really wide, and really zoom in on everything. You cant get more allround than this lens. you have this lens and you can shoot just about anything. It has built in IS to get nice steady shots. The build quality is great, metal all around and a few plastic parts. the only downside is the low light performance, but if you have enough lights, you can shoot inside.

nr 4 the Panasonic lumix 14-42mm, F3.5-5.6
this so called kit-lens is a underrated gemstone. It has a small size, but with IS for steady shots. Its build quality is basic plastic, but is on the other hands very cheap. Its sharpness is quite good. and to be honest there really isn’t that much difference between this one and the more expensive ones. at least not if we are talking performance per value. for low light it does not have much, but if you have lots of lights you can take great photos and videos inside, like this video was shot entirely on this lens. (yes, I have two)

nr 3 the panasonic lumix 17mm, F1.7
a very bright lens, small in size and weight, built quality is so-so, all plastic on the outside, but the inside is metal. it has no IS, but you can get pretty blurry backgrounds, so its good for portrait photos. its very sharp, definitely the sharpest lens I have ever tested. the focus is very silent. I recommend this shots for professional looking photos or videos.

Nr 2 the samyang 7.5mm, F3.5
this lens is just a lot of fun, its a so called fish eye lens, and is meant to be used creatively, because the distorsion is just ridiculous. But if you are creative, you can get some really great shots with it. this is the most fun lens I have. The built quality is surprisingly good all way through. it does not have auto focus, and you have to adjust it manually, which is not hard with a lens this wide. My favorite feature of this lens is that you can set your F-value directly on the lens.

nr 1 The canon 50mm, F1.8

Now I know this is top 5 lenses for micro four thirds, and I still recommend it. The build quality is plastic and terrible. The sharpness is not as good as the 25mm lumix lens, and to use it on a micro four thirds, you need a adapter, and even then, you have to manually adjust every shot. the focus ring is to loose, and its difficult to get good focus. But… I love this lens. this is my most prized lens. and its the cheapest of my lenses. And its my favorite anyway. Because every shot is a masterpiece. I have used this lens for films and weddings, and I always get amazing shots with it.

Neato D3 connected review: (2017)

is this the best vacuum robot of 2017? Lets find out.

Ok, so there are basically two main brands to choose from. The rounded Roombas, and the neatos. I went with the neato, because of the D-shaped form, to get the corners better.

Now there are 3 classes to choose from. the D3, the D5 and the flag ship, simply called Botvac Connected.

But since this is my first vacuum robot, I didn't want to go full out, I went with the cheaper version. Which was supposed to be just as good, just have less expensive filters, and a smaller battery. If this is a good choice, well, I’l get to that.

But first, let me just say. It does the job just fine. Don't worry, It will get all the corners, it doesn't miss a spot. And we use it every day and are pleasantly surprised to find that every time we open it up we see that it picks up a lot of dirt and hair, I should probably mention that we have 3 cats, so we get a lot of cat hair in our home.

and how do the cats react to it? Well, that was a big surprise, they hate our regular vacuum cleaner, but the neato, its has become a part of the family. The cats don't mind it, they even find it interesting to look at.

I definitely recommend to get a vacuum robot with wifi. it helps a lot. Other versions are packed with features like remote controlling and stuff.

The neato D3 has wifi, and basic features. I can start it from my smartphone, I can even set up a schedule. I can tell it to go back to its charging station etc. I can communicate with it, even when Im not home to find out if its stuck or something.

Does that happen? sometimes. the thing about vacuum robots its that you have to optimize your home so it doesn't get stuck. You cant leave stuff lying around. If you put a t-shirt on the ground, it will swallow it and go into a coma, just like when you eat a family pizza.

But if you make sure that the neato has clear access to clean everywhere, it will do an excellent job and return to charge. This goes for every model, there is no model that will jump over hurdles and do the impossible.

I was plesantly surprised that it did not fall down the stairs, it has sensors which will tell it not to go where it can fall down.

It can get up on higher thick carpets, but it cant get into the backroom, because its just to much of leap for it.  it can even get under the bed, under chairs, as long as its not smaller than the neato it self.

Now if we are to talk about short comings on the neato d3 there is really only one to mention. the battery. we have two floors, and it will get the top floor without problems. And when it gets the job done it goes back to its loading station, no problem. But bottom floor, its a bit bigger, and cant get all of without low battery warning. But here is the cool thing, It vacuums for about 40 minutes, then it goes back to recharge and then it goes back out to finish the job. So if you have it on schedule when you are not home, its not a concern.

is it to early to buy a vacuum robot, or is time to get it? this was my biggest concern and question before I got it. And my answer is, vacuum robots have definitely overcome any short comings from early technology. They will become better each year, just like smartphones.

we are extremely pleased with ours, it has made our lives a lot easier, and we rarely use a real vacuum cleaner anymore. just for spaces where it cant reach, like sofas and couches.

You can rest assured, that if you get the neato you will not be disappointed, just keep your expectations realistic.

Audio Technica m50x review

This is my review of the audio technica m50x.

Now why would I do a review of a couple of headphones that are several years old?

why would I make a review when there are 1000s of reviews already praising it.

short answer: because its just.. that… awesome

so, why did I get the m50x? long story short, I needed a couple of headphones for my editing.

So I wasn’t after a pair that would turn me into a base-head. I needed a pair of headphones that give clear audio and feel like pillows even after a few hours of wearing them.

I read 1000s of reviews of different head phones, and I came to the conclusion that this was the pair I needed.

And let me tell you… they did not disapoint. At all.

Audio:

crystal clear all way through. I mean vivid but grounded on every level, whether its low, middle and high notes. Even the base is good.

I use this for music, something I never thought I would for a pair this leveled. And I listen to a lot of music, hiphop, rock, classical you name it.. even those sassy pop songs. Everything I can find on spotify that makes my heart melt.

for my main purpose, to edit videos. Well its simply put, golden. It works. Now I feel I must strongly warn you, that these head phones are definitely not for everyone. When I was raving about these to my friend Robin Viking, he also got them, and returned them. He is more of a basehead and for someone like that… maybe studio beats or Sony MDR-XB950.

when you buy these, you get a leather pouch, a few cables but unfortunately no case.

build quality

these head phones are sturdy, built out of good quality plastic and metal bands all way through.

Portability

very flexible, you can fold them, you can swivel them. and with that awesome build quality, you never have to worry about breaking them.

so all and all. I am extremely pleased with these. I wish they came wireless.. and I will be testing Audio Technica ATH-SR5BT. Perhaps they will get the job done…

but if not..

It feels good that I have these m50x which get the job done.. every time…
